Back in the 19th Century and runs through the early 20th Century, the company was merely focusing on mining activity, particularly alluvial tin mining which was the core economic activity in Perak then.
1948 – 1990 The power station
Gopeng Tin Mines Limited, Kinta Tin Mines Limited and Tekka Limited (all registered in the United Kingdom) were merged to form “Gopeng Consolidated Limited” in which subsequently became “Gopeng Consolidated PLC”, listed in the UK Stock Exchange.
The early 80’s has brought change to the company whereby its domicile has been transferred to Malaysia and runs until today under the name Gopeng Berhad.
